Tasks and purposes of the course:

  • development of confident and fluent speaking skills;
  • building up of an active occupational vocabulary;
  • improvement of general, social and professional communicative skills.

Course topics:

  • medical terminology;
  • diseases and symptoms;
  • examination, precaution and treatment;
  • surgical and medical facilities;
  • communication in a “doctor-patient” form;
  • performance at international conferences;
  • participation in discussions;
  • business correspondence;
  • business communication over the telephone.
     

Skills obtained during the course:

  • business and interpersonal communication;
  • communication with people from different countries;
  • business writing;
  • preparation of reports and public performances.


The programme is intended for 60 academic hours.
